Contest Rules
Eligibility
- Active paid Patreon membership required at the time of entry.
- The painting must be started from the contest start date onward (older or previously finished works are not allowed).
- Must be a Tanuki Figures model.
Scales
- 1/6 scale (default)
- 1/4 scale up to 150% (optional)
- 1/8 scale down to 75% (optional)
WIPs
Participants must submit at least 2 WIPs through the official contest forms during the event.
Final Submission
- Upload at least 8 high resolution photos.
- Front, back, left, right and close-up shots required.
- Neutral background and good lighting required.
- No filters or heavy edits allowed.
How the jury works
Every entry will be individually evaluated by each member of our jury panel.
Each juror will give scores from 1 to 10 in the following 4 criteria, listed in order of importance:
- Visual Impact — overall impression and artistic strength of the work
- Technique — painting execution, blending, textures and artistic control
- Finishing — 3D print quality, assembly and overall finishing of the piece
- Fidelity — how faithful the painting is to the original character/design
Jurors may also leave optional comments with feedback about the works.
This process guarantees fairness, impartiality and transparency, since every piece is judged separately and without bias.
Secure your spot
Fill out the registration form and your entry will appear as pending in the public status list. After our team checks your active Patreon membership, your status will be updated.
ALL PARTICIPANTS RECEIVE EXCLUSIVE MODELS
Every approved participant will unlock the STL files for two special collectible models: the official Tanuki Painting Contest 2026 Trophy and an Sonic Model, available during the contest event.
How prizes are delivered
Cash prizes will be delivered through Payoneer.
After winners provide the required payment information.
